KAREN YOO joined Teraoka & Partners LLP in 2018, where she practices business law.
She received her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where she was a member of the International and Comparative Law Review and published a note on the tainted infant formula case in China. In law school, she served as an extern to Judge Susan Illston in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California. She also spent a semester studying international law at Georgetown Law in Washington, D.C, as well as interning at the State Department.
Karen was raised in Yokohama, Japan, and attended international school in Yokohama until the age of 14. She is fluent in Japanese. She earned her undergraduate degree with honors in International Relations from Stanford University, and spent several years living and studying overseas before attending law school. After law school, she worked for Fenwick and West LLP where she gained experience in mergers and acquisitions and technology transactions.
In her free time, Karen loves to travel and spend time with her family.
